Happy New Year and welcome to the latest edition of the “Client-Server” e-newsletter.

The concensus with our clients has certainly been, “We’re happy ’08 is over.” And, as we roll into 2009, it’s really no surprise that we’ve “officially” entered a recession. Recent talks with our clients reveal more than ever that a few critical IT factors are in the forefront of everyone’s minds, namely:  IT efficiency and effectiveness, extending the technology life-cycle, sticking to IT budgets and perhaps most importantly, maintaining rapid response and professional IT services as needed.

Fortunately, throughout ’08, C3 invested in its technology systems to improve your IT experience. Improvements include an enhanced helpdesk and remote monitoring and troubleshooting capabilities, as well as an enhanced service-ticket portal. When combined with our preventative maintenance practices, these tools have helped to increase our ability to detect most major issues before they arise and, if they do, respond more quickly and efficiently. How to handle email attachments safely & securely

Some of the characteristics that make e-mail attachments convenient and popular are also the ones that make them a common tool for attackers: E-mail is easily circulated — Forwarding e-mail is so simple that viruses can quickly infect many machines. Many viruses don’t even require users to forward the e-mail;  they scan a user’s computer for e-mail addresses and automatically send the infected message to all of the addresses they find. History

In
1980, a group of policemen in Phoenix, Arizona fulfilled the wish of 7-year-old Chris Greicius, a boy who was battling
leukemia. Chris’s one ambition in life was to be a policeman. He was
sworn in as an honorary patrolman and equipped with a uniform, helmet
and badge, and was even taken on a helicopter ride. Chris died five
days later and was buried in his uniform and given a police funeral
with full honors. From that humble beginning, the Make-A-Wish
Foundation has spread throughout the country and abroad to become the
largest wish-granting organization in the world,
